Vygekraal

During the Boer war the Voortrekkers had to patrol the Magaliesberg. It was an important lookout securing the farms and commandos streching from Pretoria to Rustenburg.

Vygekraal was used to keep the horses fresh, and cattle safe. After the war, the kraal was left to stand and wasn’t used anymore.

As the years past, all that remained was the walls preserved by the trees growing over the stones laid down by the Voortrekkers.

The tree under which you will get married is the 72nd largest tree in South Africa. It may not be the oldest tree, but its beauty is unique.

Vygekraal will be used for small to medium size weddings. There is a lapa for rainy days, and lush green lawns and shade for most of the year.

Vygekraal is truly the best spot to get married in Pretoria. Intimacy at its best.
